WEEKLY NEWS & NOTES

Ladies’ Friendsgiving: As we celebrate another year of the Lord’s blessings, we invite all ladies to gather for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship in the Fellowship Room on Friday, November 13th starting at 6:30pm. Please bring food to share at the potluck meal and a gift for the gift exchange. Please contact Patsy Jewel with any questions.

Glenview Food Boxes: It’s November, so we are again gathering food for the Glenview Elementary Boxes. Find the list of needed items for each box in your email or on our Somers FB Exchange page. Bring all food donations to the stage and any monetary donations to Sean Ashberry or any of the elders. All donations are due by Sunday, December 13th.

Elementary Book Donations: In conjunction with the Glenview Boxes, we are gathering 40-80 preowned elementary (K-5th grade) books in good condition to add to the boxes. These can be left on the stage along with the canned food items. Please ensure that every book donated meets the following guidelines

  • Accepted: picture books, elementary chapter books, & early readers

  • Condition: clean, stain-free, and undamaged

  • Please do not bring: board books, teen/adult books, workbooks, or coloring books

SomersKids Christmas Lunch and Service Project: All SomersKids and families are invited to our annual Christmas festivities in the Activities Center on Sunday, December 13th, 2026 immediately following morning service. We will have a potluck lunch followed by decorating the food boxes for Glenview Elementary. Please make plans to attend and reach out to Caroline Prestridge if you would like to assist in planning this event.

Hats & Blankets for Arkansas Children’s Hospital are due by December 2nd. Please contact Linetta McDonald if you have donations or questions.

Save the date of Dec. 5th for this Somers Crazy Card Party. Details coming soon.

Teens reminder: Friendsgiving is tonight at Jonathan’s house from 5:30-7pm. Teens bring your favorite Thanksgiving side dish or dessert to share.
