WEEKLY NEWS & NOTES
Food For Friends is a meal train made up of volunteers who take turns bringing meals to the sick or bereaved throughout the year. Ideally multiple volunteers sign up for a month at a time to share the work. If you would like to be a part of Food For Friends, then please sign up on the sheet at the back of the auditorium. If you have questions, please contact Bevely Baker or Cecily Story.
Budget Requests: We’re already planning for 2025. If you have a ministry, project, church related activity, or idea that you would like to continue or start new for next year and it requires church funds, then please submit a written budget request to the elders by the end of today or give it to one of the committee members: Adam Prestridge, Duane Quesinberry, or Steve Mosley.
Friends & Family Day + Potluck: On Sunday, November 3rd, Somers will host a Friends and Family Day with a Potluck after services. This is a day to invite your friends, neighbors, & family for a morning of Bible class, worship, and lunch as a big church family. Bring your smiles and favorite dish(es) to share!
Paragould Children’s Homes Food Pick-Up is scheduled for TOMORROW, Oct. 28th. Their most needed items at this time are cereal, snack crackers, kool aid mix, coffee, salsa, and Velveeta cheese. Please place donations in the pink basket in the hallway by the mailboxes and be sure to check those expiration dates. If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Prestidge or Tim Ashberry.
Ladies Bible Class delivers crocheted or knitted hats and blankets for patients at Arkansas Children’s Hospital each November in memory of Lawson Phillips and Winsella Busbea, but it is a year-round project. If you have hats or blankets to donate, those are due by November 13th. Please contact Linetta McDonald if you have any questions.
